Equality and Diversity
Equality and Diversity is ‘The recognition and valuing of difference in the broadest sense. It is about creating a working culture and practices that recognise, respect, value and harness diversity for the benefit of the organisation and all individuals.’
As Broadland Housing Association employees we are all representatives of our organisation. All employees need equality and diversity competence to engage creatively and effectively with each other, our customers and our partners, and to ensure compliance with legislation.
Twilight Sessions
Broadland Housing Association offers Twilight sessions to its entire staff base. These sessions are an opportunity for staff to gain a better understanding of everyday situations, values and beliefs within different cultures. Some of these sessions have included speakers from the Gypsy and Traveller community, Norfolk Probation Service and Jehovah Witnesses. Each session is aimed to provoke discussion and thought as well as promoting equal opportunities.
Training
All employees receive Equality and Diversity Training within their first year of employment.
